Update - GCC Marking & Recognition Certificate
On 27 Jan 2018, 13 regulated low voltage electrical items and all toys are required for GCC mark to enter Saudi Arabia starting from 18 Jan 2018. Grace period is until 17 Mar 2018.
Shipments without the GCC marking will be banned entering into Saudi Arabia
The regulated low voltage electrical items are as below:
- Electric fan
- Refrigerator/freezer
- Clothes washer/dryer
- Food grinder/mixer/juice extractor
- Toaster
- Hair-dressing apparatus/hand dryer
- Electric heating apparatus
- Microwave oven
- Cooker/griller/oven
- Water heater
- Electric iron
- Air conditioner
- Plug/socket/adaptor/cord extension set/charger
- All toys
SASO Recognition Certificate for 9 Selected Products
The below 9 product categories will soon be required of Recognition Certificate + CoC in order to enter into Saudi Arabia.
- Mobile Devices
- Chargers for Mobile Phones and Parts
- Car Batteries and Mobile Phone Batteries
- Water Pumps
- Dishwashers
- TV Sets
- Lighting
- Electric Motors
- Computers and Laptops
The requirement of Recognition Certificate for Mobile Devices and Chargers for Mobile Phones and Parts is effective on Feb 15, 2018, while the rest of the products can enjoy grace period up to 3 to 6 months, implementation dates will be confirmed.
Once implemented, the Saudi Arabia Customs will check for the Recognition Certificate per shipment for the selected products, your shipment will be banned and returned if missing the Recognition Certificate.
Those products’ HS codes under the Selected Product List will be required to provide Recognition Certificate + CoC in order to enter into Saudi Arabia.
