ETSI EN 303 345 Final Draft V1.1.7 - Requirements for Broadcast Sound Receivers

This standard specifies the requirements for the equipment that demonstrates both effectively uses and supports the efficient use of radio spectrum, so that avoiding the harmful interference.

Scope

Devices including the antenna that receive broadcasting sound services:

  • Analogue or digital
  • Multifunction

Including AM, FM, DAB, and DRM.

Conformity Requirements

  1. Sensitivity Test
  2. Receiver Adjacent Channel Selectivity and Blocking Test
  3. Test of Unwanted Emissions in the Spurious Domain

Sensitivity Test

  • The sensitivity is the minimum signal level required to provide a given level sound quality.
  • The required sensitivity limits and the testing procedures are different for AM, FM, DAB and DRM demodulations.

Receiver Adjacent Channel Selectivity and Blocking Test

  • Adjacent channel selectivity at a given frequency separation, is the ratio of the maximum unwanted signal level to the wanted signal level necessary to provide a given level of audio quality. The wanted and unwanted signals are of the same modulation type.
  • The blocking ratio at a given frequency separation, is the ratio of the unwanted signal level of the maximum AM to the wanted signal level necessary to provide a given level of audio quality.
  • The requirements of channel spacing for adjacent channel selectivity and blocking, and the testing procedures are different for AM, FM, DAB and DRM demodulations.

Test of Unwanted Emissions in the Spurious Domain

  • The required limits of radiated emissions in addition with the measurement distances and the bandwidths are different across different frequency ranges.
  • The required limits of conducted differential voltage emissions at ANT and the bandwidths are different across different frequency ranges.
