Excessive exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy can damage human tissue. To prevent this, many countries introduced standards that limit the amount of RF exposure allowed from transmitters. Intertek Hong Kong can determine if your product meets the requirements. We conduct the required testing for a variety of wireless portable devices. Intertek is one of the few organizations capable to test and certify your product to RF exposure standards, as well as electrical safety standards and EMC/FCC requirements.
What is SAR?
SAR - the abbreviation of Specific Absorption Rate, meaning the ratio of the electromagnetic wave absorbed by human body when exposed to a radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic field in a time unit. SAR is the near-field measurement and usually averaged either over the whole body, or over a small sample volume (typically 1 g or 10 g of tissue).
The electromagnetic fields produced by mobile devices are classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer as possibly carcinogenic to humans, so it is important to investigate, understand and monitor any potential public health impact.
