We have specially invited the Professor of Institute of Textiles and Clothing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University to share on thermoregulating and thermal comfort topics. You will also be able to learn more about the new approach of marketing all seasons clothing. Lab tours of Intertek's High-Performance Testing Lab will also be available on the day.

Speaker Profiles
Dr. Dahua Shou
Assistant Professor of Institute of Textiles and Clothing (ITC)
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU)
Dr. Shou's research interests include thermal comfort, tunable heat and mass transfer, thermoregulatory wearables, and nanofiber-based energy conversion, passive cooling and air filtration. He has published over 40 peer-review SCI papers in prestigious journals such as Langmuir, PNAS, and Advanced Functional Materials.
He gained his PhD at PolyU in 2013. Prior to rejoining ITC, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow consecutively at School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering, The University of Sydney and Department of Fiber Science & Apparel Design, Cornell University.
He serves as editorial member of several international journals such as American Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, and reviewer for 39 renowned journals including Applied Energy, Composites Science and Technology, and International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer. He is the receiver of Peer Review Awards 2018 — Publons.
Dr. Jennifer Lu

Dr. Lu has almost 10 years of research and technical experience in textiles product development and testing. She is familiar with different international and national standards for a wide array of textile products, including well-established US/EU markets, Asia Pacific and other emerging markets as well as the various standard developments. She focuses on business development for functional textiles and also provides advisory and assurance services to manufacturers, suppliers and retailers with detailed updates on worldwide high-performance textiles standards and regulations and technical research.
Eddie Yam
Assistant Technical Manager, Technical Support and R&D, Softlines

Mr. Yam graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University with his Bachelor’s Degree and Master of Philosophy Degree in Fashion Technology. He has more than 7 years of experience in bringing quality and safety to the Textiles, Apparel and Footwear industry and interfaced with a wide array of global customers, ranging from world-leading fashion brands to local manufacturers with extensive technical support to aid manufacturing. He focuses on technical development and innovation projects in the recent years.
