Mr. Roger Chan
Executive Director, Chief Operating Officer, Cobalt Fashion

Roger joined Li & Fung Group since 1993. Prior to joining Li & Fung, he was General Manager and Regional Director of a HK based international garment manufacturing group. Roger is now the Executive Director, Chief Operating Officer of Cobalt Fashion (a member of The Fung Group), a Manufacturing Operating Group of the company which is working as the go-to source for global retailers and brands. He graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University major in Textile Technology and holds a Master of Science degree in Technological Economics from the University of Stirling.

Mr. Peter Rooke
Chief Marketing Officer, BDP

The platinum hair reflects the years of wisdom and inspiration. Peter has brought to marketing campaigns around the World. As a Client at BAT and Gillette, a Consultant at Clarke Hooper, an Owner at The Pea Green Boat and The Yellow Submarine, he has led the growth of 100’s of brands. Guinness, Mattel, Hasbro, Kraft, Sony, Heinz and even Government Departments are just a few who have valued his creativity. He founded Art + Science in 2004 to help share his experience with other like minded entrepreneurs. As part of his role, he is now the Chief Marketing Officer for the pioneering technology group Breakdown Plastic and wants to change the world’s perception and use of plastic products.

Ms. Carmen Chan
Senior Sustainability and Fabric Manager, Tesco Clothing
ZDHC Foundation Board of Director

Carmen joined Tesco in 2008 which wholly owned F&F clothing brand. Her role is to provide social and environmental stewardship to the brand, ensuring the issues relevant to the industry and stakeholders are core to the business strategy. She drives different sustainability initiatives in the company and is the lead for sustainable chemistry program.

She has more than 25 years of experience in the industry and has worked for various organizations in retail as well as supply chain. She serves as a member of the ZDHC Board of Directors since 2017 and is also a member of the ZDHC training advisory group.

Mr. Werner Maass
Director, Innovation Hub, Shenzhen, Coats


Werner has over 30 years of profound experience in the textile industry, specializing in R&D of fabric and materials. Before joining Coats, he was the Innovation Director of Fabric & Material in Ningbo Shenzhou Knitting Company and was responsible for the fabric development for sports brands, leading innovation projects, exploring new technical applications and functional properties of fabric and implementing sustainability solutions for future development. He now acts as the Director of Innovation Hub in Coats based in Shenzhen.

Dr. Gloria Lei Yao
Director of Project Development, The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA)

Dr. Yao has considerable research experience of textile and clothing. She played a key role in a number of research projects on the textiles and clothing area. Her research specializes in textile/clothing-human body interactions with focus areas on textiles material and skin, textiles functions and its health impaction, sportswear design and human physiology evaluation.

Dr. Yao has published over a dozen papers in refereed journal and 30 papers in refereed conference proceedings. She has written several books/chapters on Technology Roadmap of Textile and Clothing Industry and Denim Industry of Mainland China and Hong Kong. She is a reviewer to Textile Research Journal, Journal of American Academy of Dermatology, International Journal of Dermatology and editor to Journal of Fiber Bioengineering and Informatics. She held post-doctoral fellowship of the New Zealand Wool Research Institute in the University of Otago. She is the director of Textile Bioengineering Informatics Society.

Ms. Sissi Chao
Founder, Remakehub

Sissi has graduated from LSE(UK), St Andrews University (UK) and Duke University (USA). She has worked as an analyst in Accenture as well as the CEO of Mouzenidis Group China office. She has returned back to China since 2017, and became the founder of REMAKEHUB and The REFUTURE, which are both social enterprises that focus on circular waste management. She believes that her mission is to turn different kinds of waste into renewable material and products through innovation and sustainable design in order to raise public awareness of the beauty of the Limitless Waste. She sees herself as "the Messenger of Earth", and was chosen to motivate more individuals, brands, and organizations to be the PLANET GUARDIANS and to save our planet together.

Ms. Wendy Lam
Co-founder, Equiply


Wendy has graduated from Edinburgh Napier University under full scholarship. She has worked in various industries, including logistics, marine, media, and legal service. Being affected by her family garment business, Wendy is passionate about fashion and interested in solving sustainability problems in this industry. She is now the co-founder of Equiply which aims to reach supply and demand equilibrium by avoiding excess supply. She has research experience on supply chain models to develop supply chain equality. She is keen to develop sustainable fashion from traditional apparel to make a difference in the fashion community.

Mr. Percy Yung
Curator, Blue Matter Biotechnology Company Ltd.

Percy has more than 25 years of experience in textile and apparel industry. He is an advocate of the material ecology, the curator of a multi-national biotechnological corporation – Blue Matter Biotechnology Company Limited. Blue Matter sets out to be a key player in the transition from a fossil-dependent to a biobased society. By promoting a new biomaterial- Chitosan, Blue Matter aims to provide a close loop petrochemical free solution to the world’s second most polluted industry- Textile and garment.
