Since 31st August 2016, all shipments of regulated goods to Cameroon require a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) to clear Customs.
The Agence des Normes et de la Qualité (ANOR)” in Cameroon, has implemented a Conformity Assessment Programme, PECAE, requiring that all shipments of regulated products require an Attestation of Conformity (AoC) from an approved service provider such as Intertek.
The AoC will be sent to ANOR for verification purposes. The verified AoC will be the basis upon which ANOR issues a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) to the Importer.
The CoC is compulsory and is necessary for shipments to clear customs.
The programme has been implemented for all shipments with a Bill of Lading or AWB date since the 31st of August 2016.
Intertek, the leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, has signed a new contract with the ANOR to support PECAE in providing certification services to exporters to Cameroon.
PECAE applies to a list of regulated products including:
- Health and beauty products
- All processed and non-processed food products
- Construction materials
- Refined petroleum products
- Gas cylinders and paper products.
