INTERTEK HONG KONG CELEBRATES 50TH ANNIVERSARY WITH CUSTOMERS

Honouring the innovative spirit of Intertek Labtest

Intertek Hong Kong has celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special VIP customer event held in the heart of the city state, during which Group CEO André Lacroix celebrated the critical role played by the business in Intertek’s global history and growth.

Established in 1973, ‘Labtest’ Hong Kong began with just three people – Raymond Kong, Alfred Yung and Thomas Chan, progressing from textile testing to become the first commercial consumer goods testing facility in Hong Kong before expanding internationally, laying the foundations of what would eventually become the present-day Intertek.

Intertek has continued to innovate to meet the more complex and emerging needs of customers over time, with many of its groundbreaking solutions originating in Hong Kong.

The celebratory event, overlooking the Victoria Harbour and adopting the theme ‘Through Thick and Thin’, saw Intertek’s employees, business partners and various clients in attendance, with Mr. Khan Niaz Rehman, Vice President of Global Quality Assurance of Levi's, and Dr. Rodney Thu, Quality Assurance CRPL Management Director of Hasbro, take to the podium to express their appreciation for the long-standing collaborations they have shared with Intertek over the years. Our Sales Directors Victor Ko and Sam Leung, elucidated on the company's forthcoming innovative plans and the aspiration for environmental stewardship.

The event was further privileged to collaborate with Lensational, a non-profit social enterprise which is dedicated to the provision of photography training and equipment for women in developing nations, thereby empowering women and girls through the art of photography and the power of storytelling. Their student photographer Mae was one of the photographers of the night.
