On 13 November, Intertek awarded the world's first Tick-Mark certificate for children's electric scooters to the Ninebot eKick Scooter C2 Pro, at a prestigious award ceremony attended by Young Zhu, Vice President, Intertek Greater China, and Segway-Ninebot Compliance Director Dr. Zhuang Lin.
The Segway-Ninebot is an integrated high-tech enterprise specialising in short-distance transportation and robotics, owning over 1000 core industry patents worldwide. The award of the Tick-Mark certification to the Ninebot C2 Pro underscores the benefits of the enduring partnership between Intertek and Segway-Ninebot, highlighting Ninebot's commitment to safety and quality.
Intertek's Tick-Mark is designed to give manufacturers, distributors, and retailers a point of differentiation in the marketplace, and peace of mind for consumers purchasing products. As a premium quality certification, it enhances a company's brand recognition and competitiveness, making product selling points more compelling. The Ninebot eKick Scooter C2 Pro, the recipient of the Tick-Mark certificate, underwent a rigorous assessment by Intertek’s laboratory, successfully passing comprehensive safety and performance tests, according to the toy standard ASTM F963 and the related standard for recreational electric scooters ASTM F2641.
Electric scooters have gained immense popularity due to advancements in two-wheeled electric technology and the convenience they offer for short-distance travel. This trend is increasingly embraced by both children and adults, thereby necessitating stringent regulatory standards for children's electric scooters considering their needs and safety requirements.
